LOT SOLD (STC)
CLOSING BID
a Copy of Daredevil #206, published by Marvel Comics in May 1984.
This issue is notable in the comic world as it features the first interior artwork on the title by legendary artist David Mazzucchelli, who would later go on to illustrate the iconic "Born Again" and "Batman: Year One" storylines. It also features an appearance by the Kingpin and a cover by Ed Hannigan and Klaus Janson.
Value in South Africa
In the current South African collector's market (early 2026), this is considered a "mid-tier" Bronze Age / Copper Age collectible. It is not a major "key" issue, but it is highly desirable for Daredevil fans and Mazzucchelli completists.
Condition Assessment of The Copy
Based on the copy appears to be in Good to Very Good condition (roughly a 4.0 to 5.0 on the 10-point grading scale). I noticed:
-
Edge Wear: There is visible "color breaking" and wear along the right edge and bottom corner.
-
Spine Stress: Small white "ticks" along the spine where the paper has been folded.
-
Surface Scuffing: Some light marks on the white background areas.
Estimate Value : R150 to R200.
